Stainless steel is known for its resistance to rusting, corrosion, and color fading. Without a high-quality base, the plating will not last.

Typically, solid gold, gold-filled, platinum, or sterling silver jewelry can handle a bit more water. Be careful with plated jewelry, as plating can wear off, and what’s left underneath can tarnish over time. Brass jewelry is better to avoid mixing with water, though it can be cleaned.

To ensure the quality of your jewelry lasts for years, you must treat it with care. Here are some instructions on how to properly care for your pieces:

• Avoid putting any harsh chemicals on the jewelry such as hairspray, perfume and lotion.
  

• Avoid wearing when washing hands, swimming, showering and exercising.
  

• To clean, buff gently with a soft bristle brush and warm water. Dry 100% cotton cloth or a microfiber cloth.
  

• Ensure proper storage of your jewelry. Keep away from hard surfaces. Tossing your jewelry into a drawer or on top of a dresser can lead to scratches and damaged pieces. Store in an airtight plastic baggie away from direct sunlight
